Ein Sprung ins kaltes Wasser der Handwerkskunst mit Jérémy Bellina
Jérémy Bellina hat seinen Job im Supply Chain Management aufgegeben, um sich der Töpferei zu widmen. Er hat das getan, was sich die meisten von uns nicht trauen: Er ist seiner Leidenschaft nachgegangen. Alles begann vor etwa drei Jahren, als er sich eine Töpferscheibe kaufte und begann, sich das Töpfern selbst beizubringen, indem er sich YouTube ansah. Bald darauf verlor er komplett das Interesse an seinem Tagesjob und wurde von der Keramik besessen. Spulen wir bis zum heutigen Tag vor an dem er gerade in sein neues, sonnendurchflutetes Töpferstudio in einer ruhigen Straße in Neukölln gezogen ist. Seine "Can-do"- und "Hands-on"-Haltung übersetzt sich in eine erfinderische Sprache, die auf geometrischen Formen basiert und manchmal die Grenzen zwischen Design und Funktionalität auslotet. Neben der Herstellung schöner Keramiken will er nun auch sein Können weitergeben und bietet Workshops an.

Was hat Sie dazu bewegt, dein eigenes Unternehmen zu gründen?
Das Töpfern begann als Hobby, etwas, das ich in meiner Freizeit machte und anfangs für mich behielt. Aber es entwickelte sich schnell zu einer kleinen Obsession. Zur gleichen Zeit verschlechterte sich mein Firmenleben bis zu dem Punkt, an dem ich keine Lust mehr hatte, dort aufzutauchen. Ich stand ohne Job und mit einem Keramikstudio da, also beschloss ich, dass das Studio mein neuer Arbeitsplatz sein würde. So wurde ich Töpfer. Ich war allerdings nicht gut darin. Also habe ich viel geübt, schließlich mochten die Leute einige meiner Kreationen und ich begann zu verkaufen.
Du hast dein Hobby zum Beruf gemacht. Kannst du dich beim Töpfern immer noch emotional und körperlich entspannen, so wie früher als es ein Hobby war, oder hast du ein anderes Hobby als Ausgleich gewählt?
Es kann anstrengend sein, besonders wenn ich immer wieder die gleiche Form herstelle. Ich habe nicht mehr wirklich eine Nebenbeschäftigung/Hobby, um den Kopf frei zu bekommen (danke Rona). Aber wenn mich eine Aufgabe langweilt, kann ich mir immer einen Tag oder einen Nachmittag frei nehmen, um etwas Neues zu schaffen, indem ich Formen herstelle oder mit Glasuren experimentiere. Nach einem anstrengenden Produktionstag gönne ich mir zum Beispiel eine neue Vase... was für manche vielleicht ein bisschen traurig klingt. Ich mag auch die Gartenarbeit und verbringe gerne Zeit mit meinem Partner.
Wie lange hast du dein Geschäft schon? Was sind deine besten Tipps, Werkzeuge oder Techniken, um die schwierigen Tage zu überwinden? d.h. was hält Sie motiviert?
Ich führe das Geschäft seit über 3 Jahren hauptberuflich. Ich bin nicht gut darin, Ratschläge zu geben. Ich denke, man sollte es als eine Reise sehen und es Tag für Tag angehen. Jedes Jahr reflektiere ich das vergangene Jahr und entscheide, ob ich eine Münze für ein neues Jahr in den Automaten werfen möchte. Man sollte sich nicht auf einen bestimmten Stil oder eine bestimmte Technik festlegen. So wird es nie langweilig und man überrascht sich immer wieder selbst. Mitzuteilen, was man macht, hilft auch. Meine Praxis ist sehr einsam, aber mit Leuten darüber zu sprechen oder es einfach in den sozialen Medien zeigen, hilft, schwierige Tage zu überwinden. Ein Künstler zu sein und mit sozialen Medien umzugehen, kann eine holprige Angelegenheit sein, aber bei bestimmten (seltenen) Gelegenheiten kann es einen aufmuntern. .
Was macht dich glücklich?
Das ist eine knifflige Frage. Während meiner Zeit in der Firma gab es dieses blödsinnige Mantra, das besagte, dass "Sie auf dem Fahrersitz Ihrer Karriere sitzen". Ich habe es gehasst, diese Lüge zu hören oder zu lesen. Und jetzt, wo ich tatsächlich für meine Erfolge und Misserfolge verantwortlich bin, bin ich viel glücklicher. Ein wenig Kontrolle über mein eigenes Leben zu haben, macht mich glücklicher, denke ich.
Worauf in deinem Geschäft bist du am meisten stolz? Größte Errungenschaft?
Ich bin Anfang des Jahres in ein neues Studio gezogen. Darauf bin ich stolz. Ich habe das ganze Jahr 2020 über so sehr gekämpft, eine echte emotionale Achterbahnfahrt zu diesem Thema. Dieser neue Raum ist perfekt. Ich fühle mich sehr glücklich, stolz und erleichtert. Ich kann es kaum erwarten, Workshops in diesem Raum zu geben.
Was ist das Beste daran, dein eigenes Unternehmen zu führen?
Die eigenen Arbeitszeiten zu managen und die einzige Person zu sein, die für die guten und schlechten Dinge verantwortlich ist, die passieren können.
Was ist die wichtigste Lektion, die du bisher gelernt hast?br>IIch habe nicht Studio Art oder Design studiert und fühle mich manchmal ein bisschen wie ein Hochstapler, wenn ich mit einer Kreation etwas ausdrücken möchte. Ich lerne, mit diesem Syndrom umzugehen und nehme die künstlerische Seite des Handwerks mehr und mehr an.
Wo willst du in 5 Jahren stehen?
Diese Frage schickt mich gedanklich zurück ins Büro der Personalabteilung. Ich möchte immer noch Sachen mit Schlamm machen und in der Lage sein, alle meine Rechnungen zu bezahlen. Das wäre schon ein Erfolg.
Was sind deine wichtigsten Essentials / begleitet dich im Alltag und bei der Arbeit?

Weißt du immer, wo dein Telefon, deine Schlüssel und dein Portemonnaie sind oder verlierst du sie leicht? Wie weit ist dein zum Beispiel Telefon normalerweise von dir entfernt?
Alles in einer Gürteltasche. Das ist eigentlich ein weiteres Muss! Ich hasse es, Sachen in meinen Taschen zu haben. Ich bin leicht süchtig danach, mein Telefon zu überprüfen. Also ist es wirklich in der Nähe und das Ladegerät auch.
Wie gut bist du darin, dein Telefon nicht zu zerstören?
Seit ich mit Keramik angefangen habe, habe ich so viele Telefone zerstört. Ein Töpferatelier ist kein willkommener Ort für ein Smartphone. Zwischen dem Schlamm, dem Staub, dem Wasser... Es rutscht und fällt die ganze Zeit!
Hast du irgendwelche Aufkleber auf deinem Telefon?
Nein. Ich habe jetzt allerdings eine Handyhülle. Ich glaube, es ist das erste Mal, dass ich eine gekauft habe. Ich habe meine Lektion nach dem tragischen Verlust meines vorherigen Telefons gelernt. RIP.
